Vacation Summer '10

We went on a vacation to my hometown this August before we started school. It was really nice to get away (even though we worked on my moms house the whole time) but we also got to enjoy the beach, went wine tasting, and just enjoyed my family and friends. This semester is going to be a stressful one that is jammed packed with work and school!

5 Years!

Happy Anniversary Babe! I can't believe we have been married for 5 years. It has been the best 5 years of my life and I can't wait to welcome the big changes that are coming for us in the future! You are my one and only and can't wait to spend my whole life with you. I feel so lucky and blessed that we found each other at such a young age because that just means I get to spend more of my life with you! It stinks that I feel like crap today but just hanging out with you is the the best. I love you and thank you for everything you do for us! xoxo

Little Plants

I made these cute little newspaper pots for this Children's Fair for my internship. I thought they were such a good idea because I can always find newspaper somewhere for free. The other silver pots were from a girl at my internship, she gave them away as favors at her wedding with packages of strawberry and tomato seeds, super cute idea! Well I planted everything at the same time -One strawberry, one tomato in the silver pots and flowers in the newspaper pots. I didn't get anything growing out of the newspaper and I don't know why.....maybe the ink prevents it from growing? Who knows....but as of now I only have one plant in the silver pot growing (I knocked the other one over when I was vacumming...oops)I really like gardening and growing things but I don't have a green thumb, maybe someday.

Birthday Sickness

My birthday is on April 5th and Justin's is on April 7th, so we usually end up celebrating together otherwise it's just too much (One year we each made huge desserts for each other and ate way too much!) So we decided to go out to a fancy dinner (we hardly ever eat out because we just love to cook at home) at this little cute restaurant. I got short ribs and he got fish and clams, but we shared them. We shared a really yummy dessert also. Not too far after I started feeling a little bit sick but I thought it was just from the richness of the food. We rented a movie and came home. Watched almost all of it and then around 11pm I felt the urge to throw up, so I had Justin grab me a pot and there went my expensive dinner. After that I thought I would feel better if we just went to bed, pretty much fell asleep and then threw up again. I threw up about every 30 minutes for 7 hours. It was miserable to say the least. I have never been so thirsty in my life and everytime I tried to drink even a bit of water it would come right back up. By the end of course there was absolutely nothing left so I think stomach bile was coming up (sorry TMI) it was awful.
Justin got sick a few times but he at least slept through out the night, which was good because he had to work Sunday evening. I had this whole nice brunch and Church for Easter and we didn't make any of that! He stayed in bed (I ended up on the couch) until about 1pm. Then he ran to the store to buy the usual sick food (applesauce, 7up, chicken noodle soup, crackers) I have the best husband to take care of me the best he could while he was also sick! So today I had a Chemistry test which I didn't study for one bit because I was sleeping on and off all day yesterday and just felt weak and gross! I think I did alright considering my situation, we shall see.
Today is my real birthday but we are not doing anything special, except Justin did surprise me with flowers, he is the best! Wednesday is Justin's birthday and hopefully we will feel better by then, I do want to make some sort of dessert/nice dinner, I just hope I will want to eat it!

Spring Break

Well, we had our spring break last week. We went to Arcata to visit my family and relax for a bit. It was nice, but not long enough of course. It is back to school and I am ready for summer. I am taking quite a full load with Organic Chemistry in addition to 4 other classes and a 3 unit internship. The internship is unpaid but hopefully I can get hired on for the summer and be getting paid along with earning more credits/experience. I am taking a summer school class for 6 weeks, have a wedding in August that I am in, and we're trying to plan a trip to Disneyland and Santa Barbara. We have never been to Disneyland together and I loved it when I was little. Some friends of ours live in LA so we would go meet up with them, which would be awesome. Justin's Sister and Uncle live in Santa Barbara and I have never been there (well I did when I was little but don't remember it) so we want to visit them.......Our 5 year Anniversary is also in July! I can't believe it will be 5 years already, where does time go? Now I just have to get through the next 6 weeks of school! Bring on the Books!

Christmas Break

The other photos at the top are of us in Los Angeles where we spend New Years. It was so great to be close to the ocean for a few days. We always have a really great Christmas because we usually spend it in Arizona. Can't wait to go again soon!

Valentines Day

I have been super busy with school, but had a great Valentines Day. I really wanted to go see Dear John in theatres because it looked like a great sappy romantic movie, and we haven't been to the movies in like 2 years! I heard it was not that great so we thought what else can we do? We ended up going anyways because the first matinee of the day here is $5/person. The day before (saturday) we had just woken up and I was still in my pj's when there was a knock at the door. It was a flower delivery person with a beautiful bouquet that had pink roses, lilys and some other pretty flowers. I was so glad that I didn't get red roses because I just love "spring" like flowers. Justin had to work sat night so we went to Dear John sunday morning. After Dear John we went to this local bbq/deli and got sandwiches and drinks to go, came home ate lunch and then Justin had to work again. It was nice and low key. It was great just to be able to spend some of the day together and just appreciate each others company! I am so blessed to have a husband like Justin and he does whatever he can to support us so I can focus on school full time. I love you babe!!!

Back to School

I officially have only one week until the Spring Semester starts. I can honestly say that I am ready to get back to school. It was so nice having a 5 week break. We went to Arizona for 2 weeks over Christmas to spend with Justins family, then to Los Angeles for 2 days to spend New Years with friends. It was actually a quiet New Years which was nice and relaxing. We spent a week together before I left to come back home to Arcata for a week.
I will have some difficult classes for the spring, one being Organic Chemistry. I am nervous about that class but I have one friend taking the class with me so at least we can help each other out!
Justin will be taking 3 classes again at the junior college and he is very excited to be that much closer to finishing up his AA degree.
Hopefully the semester will fly by!

Fudge Recipe Disaster

So I wanted to make fudge today for the holidays and I remember my Grandmas recipe being the best. I called my Grandma to get her recipe, wrote everything down and then went to the store to buy the ingredients. Back home I do as the recipe saya. As I am trying to boil the sugar and condensed milk it just keeps getting thicker and thicker and will not boil. Soon it looks like brown sugar, crumbly, dry, and thick. I call my Grandma back and she had told me to use the wrong milk. The recipe was suppose to have evaporated milk in it, not condensed milk. So now my pot is soaking(hopefully it's not ruined) and I am contemplating whether or not to go back to the store today.......what a bummer! All I wanted was a nice piece of chocolate fudge!!! At least I have learned my lesson about fudge :)

Last Day of Break

I can't believe Thanksgiving break is over! That flew by! Yesterday we went and cut down our Christmas tree. We got a very small one because our house is small. I want to decorate but Justin is at work and I would feel bad if he missed out, even though he probably doesn't want to anyway. We went to my Uncles house for Thanksgiving so we don't have any left overs. I am going to cook our turkey probably tomorrow if it's thawed all the way. I love turkey sandwiches!!!!!
